IT REALLY WORKS!

"So cool! I caught my mouse the same day I got the trap in the mail. This is simply the best trap ever. I took the little blighter for a walk and dumped his cute little but out. I have M.E. so setting snappy traps is not something I can do anymore. Fabulous! Will be telling all my friends."

Catch mice and let them go free in a suitable area (naturally, away from your home)

PLEASE DON'T use vicious traps that snap their necks and/or backs. This is not only cruel, but also ineffective as these traps rarely kill and the poor mouse is left to die an agonisingly slow death.

PLEASE DON'T use poisons as they also cause a slow and painful death. Poisons will also continue poisoning other animals, such as cats and birds, that catch and eat poisoned mice.

PLEASE DO choose the humane way of dealing with mice.

PLEASE CHOOSE our Humane Mouse Trap.

IT REALLY WORKS - WE PROVED IT!

We didn't know what to do when our cat "Beautiful" (hardly a fitting name after what she did) bought in a little mouse to show us all - AND THEN LET IT GO IN THE HOUSE!!!

I don't know about you, but the idea of baiting a trap and waiting for a poor little mouse to get snapped up in it, makes my stomach churn.  However, not knowing what else to do, we put 3 normal mouse traps around the house.  I spent a sleepless night waiting for the "snap" of a trap to go off, feeling guilty that I was cruel enough to do such a thing.  Well, none of the traps went off, but the cheeky little mouse had stolen some of the cheese off one of the traps.  It sound ridiculous, but I was so happy that he was smart enough not to get his neck snapped.

Poison was out of the question as we have a dog, and the bloody cat that caused our mouse problem in the first place, so it wasn't safe to use. Also, as mentioned earlier, poisoning is a hideously cruel way to kill something as it causes a very slow and painful death.  Not only that, when animals go away to die, it is usually somewhere inaccessible and so you will end up having a foul odor throughout your house until the body has fully decomposed.

OK, having found out all of this information, I was determined that there must be a solution.

Well, clever me, I found it - The Humane Mouse Trap.

We put a Humane Mousetrap in the kitchen, with a little dab of peanut butter inside to tempt our mouse.  Just after 5pm, we heard a noise and went to investigate.  The tunnel door was closed.  My husband picked up the Humane Mousetrap and tilted it a little to see whether we had caught our mouse.  Sure enough - one little pesky mouse was in our tunnel.

How 2 people can be so pleased to have caught a mouse, I can't explain, but we took the dog (and the mouse in it's tunnel) for a walk down to the park .... and we set the mouse free.

We washed out the Humane Mousetrap and put it in a safe place just in case Beautiful decides to bring us another present.

SIMPLE AND EASY INSTRUCTIONS

Put food source in the Humane Mouse Trap.

Remove the endcap and place a small amount of peanut butter at the very edge of the Humane Mouse Trap. Make sure that it is only a small amount as the tunnel works on a balancing act and too much peanut butter will weigh down the tunnel in the trap position instead of in the access position. Replace the end cap and set the tunnel in the access position (see below).

The mouse will smell that wonderful peanut butter and head for the Humane Mouse Trap.

Once the mouse enters the Humane Mouse Trap and heads towards the food, the weight of the mouse tilts the tunnel and the door flap shuts and locks into place, thereby trapping the mouse without harming it.

Mice are nesters and if there is a possibility of it being trapped in the Humane Mousetrap for a while, it would be a good idea to place a cotton ball in the mouse tunnel so the mouse can curl up in it, while waiting for you to set him free.

TIPS & TRICKS

Place Humane Mouse Trap around the house/ apartment/shed etc.

Place the Humane Mouse Trap in locations where you last saw the mouse, or where there is evidence of the pesky little mouse's presence (mouse dropping). If possible, choose darker areas, such as behind the the fridge or inside a cupboard. Mice love tunnels, so there will be no problem with it entering. They also like to run along the edges of the room, along walls, so you should place the Humane Mouse Trap lengthwise along the wall.

Note: The Humane Mouse Trap works on a fine balancing act, so If you are locating it on a very smooth surface, (inside a cupboard etc) it may be an idea to place it on a thin piece of rubber matting (found in the $2 stores), or dampening a piece of paper towel and sitting it on top.

Try different locations.

If, after a day and a night, your Humane Mousetrap is still empty, move it to a different location.

Release the mouse as soon as possible!

Mice run around at night and eat around dusk or dawn, so the best thing to do is set the trap early in the evening, you will usually find that you have caught the pesky little critter before going to bed. If you don't fancy taking the mouse for a walk in the middle of the night, set the trap late at night, prior to going to bed and check it first thing in the morning. Release the mouse outside (at least 500m away) as soon as possible. Mice will die, if left in the Humane Mousetrap for extended periods. There is a circular recess in the flap that can be punched out to let in additional air if required, however, we don't recommend doing this as there is the possibility that a mouse may be able to nibble it's way free if left too long in the mousetrap.
